PSJ Exhibitor Update: Vesicular Stomatitis
In response to USEF recommendations related to the ongoing Vesicular Stomatitis outbreak in California, Princeton Show Jumping will implement the policies below. These policies will apply to the following shows:

Horses originating from California (*see below) will be allowed to compete at the above shows under the following conditions:
- Horses must be accompanied by an official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection(CVI) issued within 5 days of entry to competition grounds which includes the following VS statement by a licensed veterinarian who has examined the horse. “I have examined the animal(s) represented on this CVI and have found no clinical signs of vesicular stomatitis and they have not originated from a premises under quarantine for vesicular stomatitis.”
- Horses will be required to be examined for vesicular lesions prior to entering the stabling area. No horse from California will be permitted entry to stabling, schooling or competition areas without this examination.
- Horses from California will be stabled in a separate designated stabling area.
- Horses from California must be monitored for the duration of the event(s). Stall temperature logs with twice daily temperature recordings must be kept and displayed.
- A veterinarian or an individual designated by competition management will directly observe these horses for vesicular lesions daily.
- Any elevated temperature readings or suspect lesions must be reported immediately to competition management so that the State Veterinarian’s office and the USEF Equine Health and Biosecurity Veterinarian can be notified.
- For horses entered in multiple consecutive shows once a horse has been on the showgrounds for 14 days and has exhibited no elevated temperature or suspect lesions 4 - 6 above will no longer apply.

THE BIO-SECURITY FORM MUST ACCOMPANY ALL HORSES SHIPPING INTO THE PRINCETON SHOW JUMPING FACILITY FOR ALL HORSE SHOWS
Princeton Show Jumping is asking all equestrians to enact bio-security protocols and be proactive and responsible for their horses, including daily temperature charts. You should be able to document your horses’ normal temperature before arrival. Please do not ship horses with elevated temperatures. It is recommended that you establish a log of temperatures taken at least twice daily. If there is an elevated temperature for more than a 24 hour period, please consult your local veterinarian immediately.
Do not bring any horses with elevated temperatures or horses that come from quarantined farms onto Princeton Show Jumping property.
- A current negative coggins. Within the past 12 months.
- Signed statement of health signed by a veterinarian or barn manager with documentation of horse’s temperatures 72 hours prior to arrival at PSJ.
- Proof of vaccination for each horse against EHV-1 and EHV-4 no more than 6 months, and no less than 7 days upon arrival.
